Fragment Celtic Music
‘Fragment’ is the idea of fragments in a jigsaw puzzle that are not meant to be put together, but to be used as starting points for experimenting with infinite creative combinations. Since the release of its first album ‘Second Awakening’ (2018), the band has been outlining the identity of its project: an exploration in search of a synergy between traditional Irish, Scottish and Breton music and the innovative sounds of contemporary music, highlighting the connections between the rich cultural heritage expressed by the former and the driving force of our times.
Festival veterans, they have also performed at Your Roots Are Showing, a landmark of Ireland's folk music scene.
In 2021, they won the ‘Alberto Cesa’ award with their reworking of the traditional Friulian song ‘Al vaive ancje il Soreli’, later included in the 2024 album ‘Over The Horizon’. The latter continues the search for contaminations and is characterised by a more progressive rock and electronic sound, as well as enhanced by collaboration with great musicians from the Italian folk scene.
